WROUGHT ATLAS
THEATRE ENSEMBLE
How does love endure when your partner is gone?
Dancers tells the story of an elderly woman who rejoins her husband and re-lives their love story. It is a tale of nostalgia and memory told through dance and mid-twentieth century Italian pop music.
A 45-minute virtuosic journey, Dancers uncovers a forgotten tale. It recontextualizes aging and love. It questions the human (or possibly inhuman) condition of those who, in their old age, are left alone with nothing but memories.
Originally titled Ballarini, the play was created by Emma Dante and Compagnia Sud Costa Occidentale.
It was translated from Italian/Sicilian into English by Francesca Spedalieri.
